About this deal

Compared to the INNOVV K3 that only covers 120 degrees, the front and rear cameras of this Thinkwareeach have a 140-degree viewing angle, giving you a total of 280-degree coverage of the road. On my bike recordings were intermittent or non existent, innov advised due to faulty memory card (ones they recommend).

With this customization, you can achieve the your prefer position and angle, ensuring recording experience. Today, we’ll take a look at two motorcycle dash cams built for this task - the Thinkware M1and the INNOV K3. There’s no sticky pad for the power converter, and I’d have liked to see some zip-ties supplied, but overall the fitting experience is fine, if for me at least, not the very best I’ve worked with. Ultimately, all the motorcycle dash-cameras I’ve tried are, at their core, quite similar, and there’s certainly room for improvement in the Innovv K3 around the remote control’s legibility, but overall it’s a good way to ensure your bike will capture every metre of road you travel. The output side harness is a sturdy shielded cable terminated with a 3-pin (F) waterproof connector that connects to its 3-pin (M) (colored) DVR lead counterpart. The video quality of a dashcam is (partly) determined by the resolution and frames per second it records in.

But the list is a bit shorter regarding applications with the ability to play multi-channel video/audio recordings along with encoded data like speed, heading, position, etc. As is the norm for INNOVV products everything needed for the average installation is included with lightweight bracketry and quality hardware. Thinkwarehas been in the industry for decades, so the quality of dash cams are guaranteed to be tried and tested. Like the original K2 system, the new K3 still features a dual-channel dual-camera layout with a DVR-based G-sensor for motion/impact detection, while adding an intelligent DC converter for a protected power supply, an external microphone, and handlebar mountable remote-control components – all very welcome additions. To fit any dash-cam you’re going to have to strip some panels off, and most likely the tank, so if you’re not happy doing this make sure you budget for the work.

They mention that it gives decent enough detail, the set up is easy via the app and that the phone app is very easy to use. The Innovv K2, K3 and K5 are a high-quality waterproof motorcycle dash cams with a pair of front- and rear-facing cameras offering up to 4K resolution. The wifi connection is not great (which has been mentioned as an issue with this model but opted for this over the newer one due to camera style and size). Was hesitating between the K5 and this K3, but the K5 seems difficult to install due to the large front cam.

A foam cover or windsock is effective in minimizing ambient noise (when desired) and can help protect the microphone from moisture ingress (as needed).

Moreover, the addition of UV coating on the outer layer of the paint enhances both the visual appeal and durability of the GPS module. A great service supplied by David at Innovv in answering a small query in relation to the mounting system. The app is a generic one, though it works, but there is a glitch in the remote that means it can stop recording if you press it wrong.
