About this deal

Though not as successful as the previous two films, Part III became synonymous with the 3D craze of the 1980s. Things get a little muddled in the finale because of all the various activity that’s taking place, but the 5. Also like the previous film, the color palette has been slightly adjusted in regards to reds and greens, including those found on foliage and clothing. Agreed on the Part 2 footage, although when you view all of the results there's a reason why most of it was left on the cutting room floor. Scream Factory satiates the voracious hunger of horror fans everywhere with what could be the definitive collection of the Friday the 13th franchise on Blu-ray.

The Jason character is mentioned in the first movie more as a device, as both the killer's motivation as well as for generating a terrific air of mystery. It all appears clean and sharp, with only a minor (and mostly impossible to detect) scratch that lasts for a single frame.

Personally, I've opted for the former when watching each of the movies, and not too surprisingly, they are a welcomed upgrade over previous releases even though they don't offer as significant a jump over their Dolby TrueHD counterparts like the video transfers.

It feels a little disingenuous to release the SteelBook just two months after the regular packaging release, particularly with nothing new inside. Likewise, the low-end is noticeably a bit more robust and weighty, supplying the aforementioned music with a good sense of presence. While young campers crowd the lake with their misbehaving, reckless hormones, the story's "Final Girl" is distinct and plainly defined with a vulnerability she must overcome so that it genuinely surprises when she becomes a capable, resourceful fighter towards the end. This disc incudes only the uncut version of the film (1:35:26), the exact same runtime from the Shout! Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. More to the point is the plot introducing both Jason and horror fans to Tommy Jarvis, played with impressive charisma by Corey Feldman. Blood Types: Interview with Actor Harry Crosby (1080p, 21:24): Crosby played "Bill" in the original Friday the 13th.

What continues to amaze me though is that the horror at Camp Crystal Lake forty years later still manages some small semblance of originality. Jason manages to hop aboard and begins taking them out quickly, eventually making his way to the streets of the Big Apple. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Cunningham's original cult classic, Scream Factory brings the entire Friday collection to life as a stunningly attractive 16-disc box set with an incredible wealth of bonus features. The film had a mixed reception from critics and fans alike in 2002, but was an effective stop gap for what came next. After the Crystal Lake Massacres, Jason is pronounced dead but the diabolical killing spree continues at the camp where the gruesome slaughter began. This is where we begin to oddly cheer for the killer while the timid, self-deprecating Shelly adds a redeeming charm. A shame really but for fans of the Friday The 13TH films and Jason this blu ray set listed below is worth a look.
