About this deal

Gone are the electronic influences and synth beats of Night Driver, and in their place the band has given us the guitars, the drums, and the pop-punk sheen that original fans fell in love with – albeit, all mixed in with the more mature lyrics of a group in their thirties and a heavy dose of nostalgia for good measure.

Elsewhere on the album Reunion is a peppy beat-driven moment, Shipwrecked in Atlantis is a pure pop-rock rush, and MIA is the kind of track that will fill an arena live while fans hold up their phone lights and sway along. We loved it, but I think for a fan wanting to hear Busted again, people had to readjust their mind as to what they were hearing. A rush of melody and effervescent riffs that see the band blend huge arena-filling choruses with the classic pop-punk sound of Blink-182 and New Found Glory. We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. If you’re successful in filtering out the cynical baggage attached to Busted’s reunion – which tries to capitalize on the insurmountable obsession with 90s nostalgia these days – you'll find Half Way There to be a pretty innocent pop-punk album.

It’s a super alienating song that only a few people in bands will relate to I guess, and even then not many.AltCorner was built to serve as tbe promotional platform for alternative music - documenting everything from unheard and upcoming artists to world-renowned established acts. The started the campaign for the new album by playing three chaotic sold-out shows in a day at the 100 Club, and then dropped a throwback video for ‘Nineties’which revived the days of Top of the Pops, Blind Date, Nirvana and white-suited boy bands.

Even by their standards, there’s nothing here to get invested in, and when the only comeback that they themselves have is references to the past, both their own and of countless other, better bands, that really just says it all. The title is a play on the reference in their huge hit ‘Year 3000’ to the band releasing their seventh album. People might think they do, but given that the entire purpose of Busted is and was always to get those nostalgia glands throbbing, it’s not exactly a reliable conclusion to draw.We keep our fingers firmly on the pulse of the alternative music scene, whether it is covering already established alternative acts or documenting the stars of tomorrow, we are always there. It’s judgemental, poorly written and hard to pinpoint a moral or overarching topic beyond lines about where friends are in their lives and how they’re fat now and how the reminisce about bar fights and have faith that they’ll (I’m unsure if they is just the band or the band and their friends) be fine despite being old and drifting towards obscurity.
